Meet the team - Toups Family Dentistry

Dr. Jason Toups, DDS

Dr. B. Jason Toups grew up in Rayne, LA and graduated from Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in 1990. “Dr. J” first attended USL, where he received a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree. After working for a few years in the field, he decided to pursue a dental degree.

 
In 2006, he earned his DDS degree from the accredited Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans. After school, he gained experience working alongside his dad, Dr. Brent F. Toups, in the family dental practice.
 
Having an on-site dental lab, Dr. Toups grew up learning how to set teeth for removable cases. With his degree in art, he has a keen awareness and ability with aesthetics. He also has an understanding of symmetry and balance, which enhances his ability to create a beautiful smile using crowns, partials, and dentures as an artist.
 

Dr. J has advanced training in oral conscious sedation and is affiliated with the following professional organizations:

 
Away from the office, Dr. J spends time with his wife Jamie, and their daughters, Lucy, Zoe and Celie. His goal as a doctor is to enjoy all aspects of dentistry, especially building long-term relationships with his patients.

Meet Our Trusted Staff

Jady Champagne

Office Manager
Jady has been at Toups Family Dentistry for 8 years. She is a graduate of Teurlings Catholic High School and Acadiana Area Career College.
 
In her free time, she loves spending time with her husband Jake and their two sons, Payton and Jayce. Her favorite vacation spot is the beach.
 
Jady loves working in the dental field and her favorite part is seeing the happy, smiling faces of our wonderful patients.

Lauren Dufour

Dental Hygenist
Lauren had been with Toups Family Dentistry for 19 years. She is married to her husband Travis and has twin sons, Jake and Grant.
 
Lauren grew up in Cottonport, LA and graduated from LSU School of Dentistry with a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene.
 
In her free time, Lauren is learning how to play guitar! She loves spending quality time with her family.

Kelsey Lormand

Dental Hygenist
Kelsey has been a part of Toups Family Dentistry for 4 years. She was born and raised in Rayne, Louisiana. She studied pre-dental hygiene at ULL and completed her bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene at the University of Louisiana in Monroe. 
 
In her free time, she likes to spend time with her husband Dylan and her 2 children. Along with working out, being outdoors and baking. 

Crystal Myers

Dental Assistant
Crystal is a graduate of Rayne High School and Acadiana Area Career College. She is married to her husband Chris.
 
Crystal has been working with Dr. J at Toups Family Dentistry for 14 years. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, camping, traveling and working out.
 
Crystal loves being a dental assistant because of the joy she receives caring for and helping patients smile again.

Yilda Escobedo

Dental Assistant
Yilda was raised in Dallas, TX and moved to Lafayette 10 years ago. She graduated from Carencro High School and Unitech Training Academy.
 
Yilda has worked with Dr. J at Toups Family Dentistry for 5 years. She enjoys playing soccer and spending time with her family and friends. She also loves spending time with her nephew.

Marlaina Tate

Dental Assistant
Marlaina graduated from Mamou High School and Southwest Dental Academy. 
 
During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews and spending time with her family. She believes the best part of working at Toups Family Dentistry is taking a patient who has had a bad experience with other dentist offices and changing their outlook on coming to the dentist by making their experience a positive one.
